Buying a New Home Around a PCS Move
July 24, 2026 · 2 min read
Timing a new-construction purchase around military orders and relocation, including quick move-in options and remote decision-making.
A permanent change of station compresses every timeline. When you're buying new construction around a PCS, the build clock and your report date don't always line up. Here's how to make it work.
Match the home to your timeline
If your report date is soon, a quick move-in home that's already built (or nearly so) is usually a better fit than a ground-up build. If you have lead time, a to-be-built home gives you more choice. Be honest with yourself, and your consultant, about the real date you need to be in.
Decide remotely with confidence
Many military buyers purchase before they ever set foot in the home. Live video tours, detailed floor plans, and a consultant who can walk the community for you make remote decisions far safer. We can be your eyes on the ground.
- Use live video walkthroughs of the model and homesite
- Confirm school zoning and commute to base
- Build in margin for construction delays
- Keep temporary housing as a fallback
We coordinate remote tours, flag realistic timelines, and represent your interests so a fast move doesn't mean a rushed decision.
